Product Design
HISTO+ assists historical sites to have a new lease of life.
HISTO+ is a platform that helps match historical site owners and cultural heritage groups with travel agencies, cultural creative industries, repair experts and volunteers, in order to protect ancient buildings.
Ideation
In 2019, the news of the fire at Notre-Dame Cathedral in Paris spread worldwide, sparking discussions on how to restore this historically significant ancient building. It was recognized as a major project requiring vast resources of funding, manpower, and time. Yet, experts from various fields and the general public alike stepped forward, offering their expertise and assistance.
While this event served as a representative example of collective effort and dedication, in Taiwan, hundreds of historical buildings languish in disrepair, carrying memories spanning centuries but facing imminent collapse. Despite the efforts of numerous heritage preservation groups striving to gather resources for maintenance, there remains a significant gap between the awareness of heritage preservation and the general public. Moreover, there lacks a centralized platform to integrate information and resources for easy public access. Consequently, as a product design team, we began contemplating how to address this issue.

Pain Points
Great burdens of funds, manpower and resources on the maintenance of historic sites.
The maintenance of historical sites requires substantial resources. In addition to regular repair, renovation might be required for buildings due to accidents, which enlarges the entire burdens.
Lack of appropriate channel for resource integration.
There is no appropriate channel for resource attraction and the integration of inter-professional teams in the process of maintaining historical sites.
Difficult for the public to directly participant in issues of historical sites and learn more about local culture.
Many biking enthusiasts desire to join a supportive community, yet the process of finding the right platform or group can be unclear, limiting their active participation and shared experiences.
Service Journey Map
User Flow
The user flow is based on three different purposes and kinds of users. People who want to contribute to historical sites, people who are sites owners and need helps, people or group who can provide their experitise or resources. The flow aims to build bridges between each group, in order to boost the preservation of historical sites.
Wireframe
In our design, we prioritize how to facilitate the involvement of participants from different backgrounds in accessing projects and collaborating effectively. Each user may have a different background, ranging from participants, owners of historical buildings, to experts and related organizations. Therefore, for the same project, we design different features within each user flow for different user roles.
Low-fidelity prototype
High-fidelity prototype
We have completed the first version of the high-fidelity prototype and conducted testing. After discussing and addressing the difficulties encountered by participants during the operation, we proceeded to make revisions. Next, we will commence the production of the second version.
