Design a convenient experience and healthy community for bike users

PedalPal is a new social platform and service center dedicated to connecting bicycle enthusiasts. It's an all-in-one cycling app aimed at making life easier for cyclists by offering features like finding parking spots, connecting with fellow riders, and accessing bike services.

Problem

For urban biking enthusiasts, dealing with traffic, finding bike repair and parking spots can be a hassle, affecting their biking routine and community engagement.

Goal

PadelPal helps users avoid heavy traffic, locate bike maintenance and parking facilities, connect with bike communities, and maintain a healthy lifestyle—all in one convenient app.

The user research, conducted through surveys, interviews, and observations, identified common challenges for urban bikers, including concerns about traffic, difficulties in finding reliable repair and parking options, and a shared desire for community engagement.

Difficulty in finding secure and accessible bike parking spaces is a widespread issue, adding complexity to the biking routine.

Many biking enthusiasts desire to join a supportive community, yet the process of finding the right platform or group can be unclear, limiting their active participation and shared experiences.

Persona: Fatima

Problem statement

Fatima is a tech-savvy and logically-minded individual who needs a solution for intense traffic, bike maintenance, parking difficulties, and joining a bike community because she aspires to maintain a healthy lifestyle and find like-minded friends.

Based on the problem finding, a quick Crazy 8 sketch was carried out. From left to right and top to bottom they are:

  • Home page: Contains weather and traffic information, maintenance appointment button and social button.

By reviewing the sketch, some of the pages are being identified as unneeded. Next, I marked the parts that need to be adjusted, and quickly drew the connection between each page and added additional pages. Then, made a note of the functions of each page.
